Broward Corruption: What Slush Fund? School Board Pays Big Bucks To South Plantation Principal

First, Broward County School Board auditors uncover an “improper” $350,000 slush fund at South Plantation High School. Auditors say the school’s principal oversaw this fund; Investigators told the Board current South Area superintendent Joel Herbst operated the fund between 2000-2008.

Then, interim School Board superintendent Donnie Carter says no one will face any disciplinary action over the slush fund. Sources tell RED BROWARD this type of “fund” exists elsewhere in the district.

Now, you get to see the salaries of those at South Plantation High School.

Why does South Plantation need four assistant principals? Especially when the average teacher at South Plantation makes around $40,000?

What about South Area Superintendent and Juice Plus guru Dr. Joel Herbst? He’s doing just fine:

Forget the Paladin, is this the new South Plantation mascot?

South Plantation High School is part of Maureen Dinnen’s district. Has anyone asked her about this situation? Was she aware of this mess? Or will she do as she always does and blame it on “media hype”?

Don’t the parents, children and teachers at South Plantation High School deserve better?

Guess they forgot to include Beth's mug shot

Ah, the beauty of YouTube. This video was featured on the Sun Sentinel awhile back, the link was down but it’s back up. Tamarac mayor Beth Talabisco was removed from office after being charged with bevy of corruption charges. Someone at “Tamarac Talk” produced this tribute to Talabisco; We’re pretty sure Ilene Lieberman didn’t come up with this. The video is described as follows:

“A tribute to our beautiful Mayor who was suspended from office by Florida Governor Rick Scott after she was arrested on public corruption charges. We believe the State Attorney’s office will not be able to prove the charges. We hope that she get’s reinstated back into office as soon as possible.”

Not sure about that optimism…especially when going up against Ilene and Bev. But there are a few pics of Diane Glasser in the video…perhaps all is not lost. Best of luck, Beth.
