Broward politicians and candidates dominated the scene at this morning’s Martin Luther King Jr Day parade in Fort Lauderdale. On hand for the festivities were Fort Lauderdale mayor Jack Seiler, Bruce Roberts, Bobby DuBose, and Fort Lauderdale Police Chief Frank Adderly.
Red Broward’s Miami Dolphins expert Hazelle Rogers drove her big black Cadillac with Lauderdale Lakes Politico Levoyd Williams.
Broward School Superintendent Robert Runcie was joined by Board Members Ben Williams and Robin Bartleman. We assume Ann Murray slept late.
Many candidates were in the parade including Republicans Jim Lewis and Torey Alston. No sign of Broward State Attorney Mike Satz (D-I see nothing!). Lewis hopes to unseat Satz, who has been Broward State Attorney since Jimmy Carter was President.
Mr. Alston is running for the District 5 seat of the Broward County School Board. Rosalind Osgood, also running for the District 5 seat, was represented in the parade.
Ruth Roman Lynch, a Democrat honcho, is running for the same seat. However, Ms. Roman Lynch skipped participating in the parade. Instead, she was walking along the sidewalk, clipboard in hand, seeking signatures for her petition to get on the ballot.
