Broward Democrats plan to stage an “Awake The State” protest at the office of State Representative George Moraitis. This means Broward Young Democrats and Broward Not-So-Young Democrats (Hello Maggie & Ken) will hoot and holler in quiet N.E Fort Lauderdale.
Was this Judy Stern’s idea? Is it easier to get to for all the young Dems at Broward Government center? Looks like Sean Phillipi is an expert on redistricting maps and protest flyers. Way to go, Sean!
The Latest bit of Democrat AstroTurf: The Debt Crisis and Credit Downgrade is the fault of the Tea Party; Somehow the Tea Party and their Republican supporters distracted folks in Washington D.C. from focusing on economic solutions…blah. blah. blah.
Well, back on July 21, 2011 (less than a month ago), Franco Ripple, vice president of communications Florida Young Democrats, went on the “internationally syndicated” (i.e internet) The David Pakman show. Ripple, an aide to Broward County Commissioner Kristin Jacobs, and the host mock Congressman Allen West and Michelle Bachmann for spending all their time talking about the debt ceiling; They’d rather have them talk about silly things like whether Debbie Wasserman Schultz is “vile”.
This wouldn’t be Mr. Ripple’s first foray into astro turf. Back in February, he was a driving force behind the union-backed “Awake The State” rallies aimed at Governor Rick Scott.
(watch for the Mitch Ceasar cameo)
Ripple, a former organizer with Obama For America (OFA), was the new media director for Fair Districts.Org; They’re the fine folks behind amendments 5 & 6 and the current redistricting mess.
No wonder they weren’t focused on the debt ceiling crisis…
