George LeMieux Doesn’t Want Florida Voters To Be “Tricked” by Adam Hasner

Adam Hasner's Masquerade Ball

Senator George LeMieux doesn’t want Florida republicans to be “tricked by (Adam) Hasner’s disguises”. The campaign released the following information to voters:

“Former Tallahassee career politician Adam Hasner has gone to great lengths to attempt to portray himself as a ‘true conservative,’ a ‘consistent conservative,’ or a ‘strong conservative,’ depending on which mask he selects from his wardrobe on a given day.  There’s only one problem.  His record.

As a Tallahassee politician, Hasner voted for numerous items that most conservatives oppose. We are providing voters a behind-the-scenes look at Adam Hasner’s Masquerade Ball.  When you pull back the curtain, you find the true identity of Hasner’s non-conservative record – the one that sits behind the conservative masks he proudly wears.

The Masquerade Ball gown Hasner has chosen on the key issues of taxes and spending is a prime example.  Hasner’s rhetoric simply does not match his record. Hasner’s record includes:

  • Increasing Spending – A 40% increase during his time in the legislature.
  • Requesting over $92.2 million in earmarks.
  • Billions in new taxes and fees.
  • Voting to accept Obama stimulus money

The race for the GOP nomination is definitely heating up. In a speech last week, Adam Hasner mentioned LeMieux’s ties to former Governor Charlie Crist numerous times; LeMieux served as the Governor’s Chief of Staff.

Also last week, reports surfaced that Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos would not openly support Hasner. Haridopolos was seen as the front runner for the nomination until he dropped out of the race.

Additionally, Mike McCalister continues to gain traction among grassroots tea party groups. For months, the Hasner campaign has targeted Florida’s many tea party groups in the hopes of becoming the “tea party” candidate.

Expect a quick response from the Hasner team.

No matter how tough the GOP race becomes, Bill Nelson (D-Out of Touch) needs to go.
