What If Allen West Runs For U.S. Senate???

Loyal RED BROWARD readers will know we’ve shot down many “Allen West for…” rumors. The latest being Allen West jumping into the U.S. Senate race against Bill Nelson (D-Out of Touch). As we reported on Sunday, West left some wiggle room during his appearance on WPTV’s To The Point With Kelley Dunn.

Congressman West admitted big-time Republicans were asking him to run, so the door was “cracked” open on a potential run.

Sources tell RED BROWARD that the West camp is getting increased pressure to run for the Senate seat.

But what happens if Allen West decides to actually run for U.S. Senate? Most focus on the potential race against Bill Nelson. But what do Hasner, LeMieux, McCalister and Miller do if the Congressman joins them?

Both Hasner and LeMieux live in West’s congressional district. Would either leave the Senate race and seek CD-22?

What about Mike McCalister? West and McCalister share the same fan base. It isnt hard to imagine McCalister losing droves of supporters.

Of course this is all speculation. An August parlor game for political junkies. Stay tuned…

  1. Independent

If he jumps in and wins the primary, I think the answer is simple. He will lose to Nelson 55% to 45% if not by more, and end his political career for now.

He probably is ‘thee’ most polarizing figure in Florida right now.
