This morning in Miami, Connie Mack picked up serious support for his US Senate campaign. Mack was endorsed by Miami’s GOP congressional delegation: Rep. David Rivera, Rep. Mario Diaz Balart, and Rep.Ileana Ros Lehtinen. Lincoln Diaz Balart also threw his support behind Mack.

Mack hopes to send Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Sleepy) into retirement this November. Today’s endorsements should guarantee Mack the support of Miami’s Cuban (and very Republican) community.

Christine O’Donnell Headlines Broward GOP Conservative Authors Luncheon

Christine O'Donnell

Christine O’Donnell, former U.S Senate candidate and FOX NEWS CHANNEL regular, will be the guest speaker at the Broward GOP Conservative Authors Luncheon. Tickets and books still available: William Lewis of The Credit Report With Bill Lewis posted the following story over at Red State:

“The Republican Party of Broward County is proud to host Christine O’Donnell for a luncheon and book signing on Thursday, August 25th, at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club.  This is your opportunity to meet the 2010 GOP U.S. Senate candidate from Delaware in person and receive an autographed copy of her new book, ‘Troublemaker: Let’s Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again.’

A Tea Party favorite, O’Donnell talks about the ‘lowest moment of the 2010 campaign’ when she told voters in a commercial: ‘I’m not a witch.’

The Delaware Republican grabbed the national spotlight last fall in her U.S. Senate campaign following a primary win against Congressman Mike Castle and her subsequent campaign against now Senator Chris Coons (D- Delaware).

O’Donnell has returned to the spotlight with a book that is a combination autobiography, part-policy paper, and part-recap of her stunning primary win in Delaware.

After defeating Castle, O’Donnell did not receive much support from the Delaware Republican Party.  In fact, much of the 2010 campaign was spent fighting ‘the establishment,’ a fight O’Donnell details in her book.  ‘Certain party leaders rolled up their sleeves gnashed their teeth and came looking for me.  I’d already set off our state party leadership with my 2006 and 2008 campaigns, but here, it looked like I was ready to ruffle even bigger feathers on an even bigger stage.’

In ‘Troublemaker,’ O’Donnell backs away from her infamous ‘I’m not a witch’ statement; something that was designed to play off of comments she made years before on Bill Maher’s Politically Incorrect show about ‘dabbling in witchcraft.’  O’Donnell also writes about her regrets in signing on with media consultant Fred Davis, the man behind the infamous commercial, but takes the blame for not speaking her mind, ‘It was a wrong-headed move, made for all the wrong reasons, but it was mine.’

As the book title implies, O’Donnell appears to thrive in the face of adversity.  She writes, ‘I once heard a priest, ‘If you’re going to love your enemies, you first must have the courage to make some.’  Let’s face it: I was making enemies left and right—and here the phrase had particular meaning for the way I seemed to anger folks on both sides of the aisle, on the left and on the ostensible right.  It was beginning to feel like nobody from the Delaware political establishment, Republican or Democrat, wanted to see me run.’

O’Donnell is promoting ‘Troublemaker: Let’s Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again’ on a nationwide book tour and has made appearances on numerous television and radio shows.  Her South Florida appearance on behalf of the Broward Republican Party will be on Thursday, August 25th at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club, 2800 Yacht Club Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304.

A meet and greet has been scheduled for 12 noon followed by a luncheon of salad, chicken or vegetarian plate, rice pilaf, green beans almadine, key lime pie, coffee and/or tea.   The luncheon is $35.00, all inclusive, with an autographed book available at $25.00 per copy.  A photo opportunity will be available.

‘We are excited to have Christine O’Donnell here in Broward County,’ stated Mark McCarthy, event chair and Treasurer of the Broward Republican Executive Committee.  ‘Having read the book, I look forward to meeting the woman behind it all.'”
