Supporters of embattled Pompano Beach Vice Mayor Beverly Perkins are holding a rally Monday evening at City Hall. Perkins is facing her second scandal involving her disrespectful attitude toward law enforcement. Perkins is on the ballot this November.
In July, REDBROWARD broke the news regarding an April 2022 traffic stop involving Perkins and the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. Perkins was pulled over for speeding. After being told she would get off with a written warning, Perkins told the FLPD officer he should, “find something the better to fucking do.” The entire incident was captured on police body cameras.
Last week, WSVN posted new police body camera footage of a December 2020 incident involving Perkins and Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies. Documents show Perkins tried to get a deputy reassigned after he scolded her for ignoring traffic barricades at an event.
Supporters of Beverly Perkins promise to reveal the “real reason” behind the recent Perkins stories at the rally.
SPOILER ALERT: Beverly Perkins’ arrogant behavior towards law enforcement officers doing their jobs is the “real reason.”
WSVN Channel 7 reporting on a December 2020 incident involving Pompano Beach Vice Mayor Beverly Perkins and Broward Sheriffs Office deputies. According to an internal affairs report, Perkins tried to get a BSO deputy reassigned for telling her she was not allowed to drive on a blocked road. The deputy told Perkins, “I don’t care who you are.”
Earlier this month, REDBROWARD was first with video of Perkins from an April 2022 traffic stop in Fort Lauderdale. Perkins told an officer to “find something the better to fucking do.”
Sources tell REDBROWARD there are other videos of Perkins out there. One reported video from April 2022 shows Perkins and fellow Commissioner Cyndy Floyd at a local restaurant. Multiple sources say Perkins was asked to leave the restaurant. Another video shows Perkins and BSO deputies at early voting in 2020.
