All hell broke loose when the Wilton Manors Business Association announced Congressman Allen West as the guest speaker for their August meeting. Wilton Manors, a small town just north of Fort Lauderdale, is home to many gay businesses and residents. Almost immediately, gay activists cried foul; There were calls for protests and boycotts. The President of the Wilton Manors Business Association received threats of violence. In the end, West’s appearance was cancelled.
Most reports focused upon Allen West’s stand on various gay and lesbian issues. Readers were left to believe the protests were born out of honest disagreements over policy. However, the protest talk may have just been another Democrat Party ploy to marginalize Congressman Allen West.
Michael Rajner, president of the Florida Gay, Lesbian, Transgender Democratic caucus, was the driving force behind the protest. He has a history of shouting down Republican voices. Rajner is very active in local politics. He is a member of the Broward School Board Diversity committee. Sources tell RED BROWARD, Rajner was instrumental in sabotaging attempts by the committee to call for Board Member Ann Murray’s resignation.
Rajner is a close associate of Broward Democratic Executive Committee North Area leader Ken Evans. You may recall Evans’ role at an Allen West town hall back in April. The Sun Sentinel reported:
“Ken Evans, northeast Broward leader for the Democratic Party, began yelling complaints. Police told him to leave. Evans waved to the crowd, most cheered his ouster, and one man directed the epithet ‘scumbag’ toward Evans.”
Just this week, Buddy Nevins wrote about Ken Evans important role in the re-election of President Obama.
“That’s why folks like Ken Evans have become so importent to the Democrats. Evans, the northeast Broward Democratic leader, is building a cadre of activists in the Pompano Beach-east Deerfield Beach communities.
Since this in the only part of Broward where the Republicans have real strength, any inroads Evans makes there cuts into GOP chances in 2012.
Evans tells me he has five growing clubs full of new members. It has yet to be proven whether these activists can pump up the turnout for Democrats in this GOP bastion, but at least Evans is trying.
Obama’s fate is in the hands of Democrats like Evans!
Let the games begin.”
For months, RED BROWARD has reported on the Democrats plans to “radicalize” Congressman West. The plan, hatched by the Weston and DCCC cronies of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Out Of Touch),is to position wee Democrat challenger Patrick Murphy as a moderate Democrat. To do this, they will position Democratic Lois Frankel way too the left, while placing West “too far” to the right.
In March 2011, RED BROWARD reported on the CAIR and SEIU plants at West town halls.
Shouldn’t someone ask Michael Rajner and Ken Evans if the boycott was simply about “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”? Or was it really another part of the Democrat’s campaign against Congressman Allen West?
