The Sun-Sentinel reports Congressman Allen West has raised $1.5 million for his re-election campaign. Guess Patrick Murphy will get an earful from Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Out Of Touch).
“One of the most notable features of his fundraising is the money came from 23,500, according to the campaign – including 12,000 new contributors. That shows West has a strong network of contributors who can be tapped again to help fund what is expected to be an expensive campaign because it requires advertising in the pricey Miami-Fort Lauderdale television market.
The average contribution is $66.
‘Our message is clear, and resonates profoundly at the grassroots level. We continue to put our nation back on course for fiscal responsibility and national security,’ West said. ‘The people of the 22ndCongressional District of Florida and all Americans understand we made a change in the House of Representatives last November and we need to continue to make changes on Capitol Hill for our country’s future.'”
