Throwback Thursday to that time Commissioner Marlon Bolton dubbed Vice Mayor Kicia Daniel “The Queen of Tamarac.” No wonder they think they can spend your money anyway they see fit.

On the red carpet last Friday night, Marlon Bolton introduced fellow commissioner Kicia Daniel as “The Queen of Tamarac.” Bolton and Daniel put their names on the awards presented at the Key To Region gala in Fort Lauderdale. One of the recipients was Daniel’s husband Mark S. Daniel, a developer with Pulte Homes.

In a now-hidden YouTube video, Bolton introduces Mark and Kicia Daniel as the “King and Queen of Tamarac.” Mark Daniel tells Bolton, “You are the creator of this.”

While receiving his award, Mark Daniel revealed his deep friendship with Bolton.

“I want to thank the Honorable Marlon Bolton, a friend that I admire the most,” Mark Daniel said. “I call him the GOAT.”

Daniel said, “Anybody wanna win, go see Marlon.”

Later, Daniel continued his praise. “[Bolton] is a person I admire diligent for his strong work ethics and demonstrates strength day in and day out.”

Does the personal relationship between her husband and Marlon Bolton interfere with her duties to Tamarac voters?

Will she defend Bolton no matter the issue?

Why are elected officials honoring Mark Daniel?

Was their a monetary reward?

Who paid for Bolton’s Key To The Region?

REDBROWARD reported last week, Mark Daniel, aka “The King Of Tamarac” spoke highly of Commissioner Marlon Bolton at the recent Key To The Region event. Daniel is married to staunch Bolton ally and fellow Tamarac Commissioner Dr. Kicia Daniel. Bolton dubbed Kicia Daniel the “Queen of Tamarac.”

At the event, “King” Mark Daniel said, “Anybody wanna win, go see Marlon.”

Did Mark Daniel mean local elections? Legal cases? Mediations?

His Tamarac “subjects” deserve answers, right?

Tamarac Vice Mayor Asked Commission To Redirect $72,000 To Sunrise Church That Houses Her Private School

Last month, at the urging of Vice Mayor Kicia Daniel, Tamarac commissioners redirected up to $72,000 in public tax dollars from a well-established charity that assists senior citizens to a Sunrise church that houses her private Christian academy. Daniel asked commissioners to fund a food pantry the church operates under the “Dare To Care” name. Daniel complained that the Area Agency On Aging Of Broward County (ADRC) was not responsive to her staff. Daniel never disclosed her relationship with The Faith Center Church in Sunrise.

During the November 12, 2025 commission meeting, Vice Mayor Kicia Daniel asked commissioners to “split” the annual $72,000 payment the City made to ADRC with Dare To Care. Daniel said she has been “sending her residents to Dare To Care” for food assistance during the government shutdown.

When administrators said it may be impossible to take the money from ADRC, Daniel said “time for a change.”

Commissioner Marlon Bolton, a staunch Daniel ally, wanted to drag the ADRC before the Commission. He said the ADRC failed to correct a bedbug problem facing a local resident. Bolton said giving tax dollars to Dare To Care was a “no brainer.”

“Dare To Care is an amazing organization,” Bolton said. “They are deserving of getting assistance from the City to continue the work that they do.”

Bolton moved to halt all payments to ADRC until they make a presentation to the Commission. If the ADRC fails to prove their worthiness, the Commission voted to give the full $72,000 to Dare To Care. Only Mayor Michelle Gomez voted NO.

SUNRISE MEGA CHURCH?

According to State of Florida records, Henry Fernandez is the president of The Faith Center church in Sunrise.

State records show Henry Fernandez is the Director of Dare To Care, Inc. located at 4085 NW 16th Street in Lauderhill. This property, a former strip mall and movie theater, is also the home of the University Of Fort Lauderdale.

State records list Henry Fernandez as the Chairman of the University of Fort Lauderdale.

IMMACULATE RESULTS?

Vice Mayor Kicia Daniel, a retired Broward Schools principal operates the Immaculate Results Christian Academy in Sunrise. According to the school’s website, Immaculate Results Christian Academy is located at The Faith Center Church at the site of the former Sunrise Musical Center.

Tuition at Daniel’s kindergarten through eighth grade school is not cheap. According to the website, tuition is $10,000 per year. But scholarships are available.

REDBROWARD wanted to know why Kicia Daniel never disclosed her relationship with The Faith Center when she asked her fellow Commissioners to fund the Church’s food charity.

She has not responded to our request.
