Broward Democrat Hazelle Rogers Still Giving The “Purple Bird” To Voters With Another Big Bucks Payment To Mystery Delaware Company

Hazelle Rogers Pays Purple Bird

Even though it cost her the Sun-Sentinel endorsement, Broward County Commission District 9 candidate Hazelle Rogers keeps paying big bucks to a mystery Delaware corporation. In July, REDBROWARD exposed how the recently formed Delaware corporation known as Purple Bird Communications LLC shared the same address as Rogers’ campaign headquarters. Rogers, the Mayor of Lauderdale Lakes, is running against Guithele Ruiz-Nicolas in the August open primary.

According to official Delaware corporation records, Purple Bird Communications LLC was formed on May 31, 2022. Delaware does not require corporations to list managing members/officers. The corporation was formed using a Delaware registered agent company.

State of Florida records do not show any corporation or foreign based corporation named Purple Bird Communications.

According to her official financial reports, on June 13, 2022, Hazelle Rogers paid $3,000 to Purple Bird Communications for “design campaign materials.”

Two weeks later, Hazelle Rogers gave $22,150 to Purple Bird Communications. This payment was made for “canvassing and designing.”

Two days after REDBROWARD exposed the $25,150 payments to Purple Bird, Hazelle Rogers amended her campaign treasurer report.

On July 10 2022, REDBROWARD asked Rogers about the payments to Purple Bird Communications which uses the same post office box address as Rogers’ campaign. Rogers never responded to our request for comment. On July 11, 2022 we posted the story.

According to Broward Supervisor of Elections records, on July 11th at 10:21PM, Rogers filed an amended June 2022 campaign treasurer’s report. The report deleted the June 28, 2022 payment to Purple Bird Communications. The amended report changed the address for Purple Bird Communications. Instead of Rogers’ PO Box, the new report lists the address of the registered agent in Delaware.

The agent forms Delaware corporations for a fee and then accepts mail and correspondence on behalf of the true owners as required by Delaware law. However, the registered agent is not the person providing campaign help to Hazelle Rogers.

The June 13, 2022 payment to Purple Bird Communications was not amended.

One week after Hazelle Rogers amended her report, the Sun-Sentinel endorsed her opponent after Rogers could not answer basic questions about payments to Purple Bird Communications LLC.

Rogers told Sun Sentinel editors Steve Bousquet and Dan Sweeney that she did not have all the answers about Purple Bird. “I don’t have all the details,” Rogers said. “You contract with a number of people to do different things.” They called Rogers response “woefully inadequate.”

“She has not earned the trust of Broward voters,” they wrote.

The Rogers interview is even worse than described in the endorsement.

Dan Sweeney asked Rogers a simple question-who owns or controls Purple Bird Communications? Rogers played dumb. She claimed to have learned about the issue the day before. Rogers claimed she was finding out information about the company.

“I have a campaign strategist and a group of campaign consultants,” Rogers said. “I follow their guidance.”

An incredulous Sweeney wasn’t buying Rogers’ ignorance. He asked why the company shares the same address as her campaign.

“They do? They don’t. But they don’t,” Rogers said. “I can assure that is incorrect.”

Rogers went on to say her campaign doesn’t have “an address other than my house!” Rogers uses the P.O. Box address on official campaign documents as well as her website.

Steve Bousquet asked why Purple Bird Communications was formed in Delaware instead of Florida. Rogers told him she has someone else that handles contracts. When Bousquet read the P.O. Box address from the report, Rogers said, “that sounds familiar.”

Rogers denied that any family member was involved in Purple Bird Communications.

Judging from her latest campaign treasurer’s report, Hazelle Rogers’ consultants told her to keep paying big bucks to Purple Bird Communications. Only July 16, 2022 Hazelle Rogers paid $10,079 to Purple Bird. The payment was made one day after the Sun-Sentinel endorsed Guithele Ruiz-Nicolas.

Since it is an open primary, all voters (Republicans, Democrats and Independents) can vote in the District 9 race.

All voters will be able send a message to Hazelle Rogers, her consultants and mystery Delaware companies.

PAC Tied To Marlon Bolton Trying To Fool Broward Residents (Again) With Pro-Dale Holness Voter Guide

Another Voter Guide From The Shady Our Blue Democracy?

Broward mailboxes are filling up with another pro-Dale Holness voter guide from a political committee tied to Tamarac Commissioner Marlon Bolton. The “Broward County Voters Guide” comes courtesy of “Our Blue Democracy” a Federal PAC located in Tallahassee.

Featuring pictures of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the guide endorses Dale Holness over incumbent Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus McCormick. Our Blue Democracy also supports Broward County Commission candidate Hazelle Rogers over Guithele Ruiz Nicolas, US Congressional candidate Ben Sorensen over Jared Moskowitz and Charlie Crist over Nikki Fried.

OUR BLUE BROWARD

Last February, REDBROWARD exposed the deep ties between Our Blue Democracy and Marlon Bolton.

During the November 2020 election, some Broward residents received the “Our Florida Democracy” voters guide. The guide is still available on the Our Blue Broward website. The guide states it was produced by the Our Blue Democracy political committee located at 1563 Capital Circle S.E. address in Tallahassee.

The guide endorsed most of the Democrat candidates on the 2020 ballot. But a few candidates received special notice including pictures alongside Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. In addition to being pictured with the Presidential nominee, these special candidates received their own sections on the guide.

Who were these candidates?

Marlon Bolton, former Broward County Commissioner Dale Holness, the late Congressman Alcee Hastings, North Lauderdale Commissioner Regina Martin and Tamarac Commissioner Elvin Villalobos.

Federal records show Our Blue Democracy was formed in September 2020 by its treasurer Malucci Joseph. Our Blue Democracy used the same address and telephone number as the Conservative Converance PAC operated by Malucci Joseph.

REDBROWARD revealed Malucci Joseph, a singer and active participant at services held at Marlon Bolton’s Praise Experience Worldwide Outreach church in North Lauderdale is tied to other political committees which support Bolton or his allies. These include Go Tamarac Go PAC and Residents United PAC.

Federal campaign reports show a September 18, 2020 contribution of $5,000 by Malucci Joseph. Four days later, Our Blue Democracy paid $3,309.34 to Minuteman Press of Coral Springs for mailing services and $900 to Xpress Color of Lauderdale Lakes for printing services. These are the same companies used by Residents United PAC, Conservative Governance PAC and Go Tamarac Go PAC.

REDBROWARD wanted to ask Broward resident Malucci Joseph why she opened so many Tallahassee based political committees.

This reporter called the Tallahassee telephone number listed for both committees: (850) 220-7853.

But Malucci Joseph did not answer the phone.

MARLON BOLTON ANSWERS REDBROWARD PHONE CALL

“Hello?” Marlon Bolton said.

“Marlon?”

“Who’s this?” Bolton said.

This reporter identified himself and the publication and asked Bolton why he was answering a telephone number listed for two Tallahassee based political committees.

“Tom Lauder, I don’t consider you a real reporter?”

We stated that’s his opinion and asked what his role is with the Conservative Governance PAC, the Our Blue Democracy guide and the Our Blue Broward website.

Bolton said, “Tom Lauder, do you have any other questions, not related to these PACs?”

We asked Bolton if he had recently hired an attorney.

“Tom Lauder, do you have any other questions?”

We asked if he had been interviewed by any Federal, State or local law enforcement agents.

“Goodbye, Tom Lauder,” Bolton said.

In January, Our Blue Democracy reported a $500 payment to Happy Feet Advertising LLC. REDBROWARD has exposed Marlon Bolton’s ties to the Margate advertising firm.

In February, Our Blue Democracy reported a $5,000 contribution from Costa Properties, Inc of Pompano Beach.

In March, The Federal Elections Commission (FEC) advised Our Blue Democracy it was being terminated.

How many times will phony voter guides promoting Dale Holness litter Broward mailboxes and early voting locations?

REDBROWARD has documented the numerous shady political committees that produced these cards. These PACs are operated by Holness Allie’s like Omar Miguel Smith.

Earlier this month, Smith plead guilty to Federal fraud charges.

Did any of these candidates pay to appear on the Our Blue Democracy card?

Did any of these candidates ask to appear on the Our Blue Democracy card?

Did any candidates, especially the judicial candidates, do ANY research into the people behind Our Blue Democracy?

Will anyone stop these shadowy political committees and shady companies from continually trying to interfere with local, State and Federal elections?

Or, will allies and cronies of Dale Holness, Omar Smith and Marlon Bolton keep laughing all the way to the ballot box?
