Sun-Sentinel: Never Apologized To Coral Springs Candidate Khurrum Wahid

The Sun-Sentinel reporter who wrote about the candidates for the upcoming Coral Springs city commission says no apology was made to Khurrum Wahid. REDBROWARD reported Wahid supporter Alissa Jean Schafer, an elected member of the Broward Soil & Water board, called Lisa Huriash’s story “racist” and warned it could lead to violence. It addition to calling for the censorship of the story, Schafer claimed Huriash apologized to Wahid.

This evening, Huriash took to Twitter to deny any apology was made. She wrote:

Hello. I just want to set the record straight here. Yes, we did update the story after a candidate, Khurrum Wahid, issued a response, including why he has represented terrorism suspects. We did this out of fairness, to provide more explanation and context. The first story was accurate, and we never apologized for it. That’s the full truth. Thank you for allowing me to share it.

REDBROWARD takes Huriash at her word. She is known for her straightforward reporting on local government and events.

So, why would an elected official lie about an apology? Why is Khurrum Wahid so quick to complain about simple facts regarding his legal career and political activities? Is he trying to fool Coral Springs voters?

They deserve answers.

And Lisa Huriash deserves an apology.

Where Is Brenda Snipes’ Lawyer?

Where is Brenda Snipes’ lawyer? Burnadette Norris Weeks is the longtime “contract attorney” for the Broward Supervisor of Elections Office (SOE). But Norris Weeks has not been seen in public during the Broward vote counting mess™️.

Instead, local attorney Eugene Pettis has been Snipes’ public face. On Friday, he represented Snipes in a Broward County courtroom. On Saturday, Pettis held a press conference instead of Snipes.

As REDBROWARD reported multiple times, Norris Weeks has deep political ties to Congressman Alcee Hastings and Broward County Commission Dale Holness. Norris Weeks’ Right Consulting was an early contributor to Mayor Andrew Gillum’s campaign. She celebrated Gillum’s surprise win in August. In October she said she was “praying for change.”

On Facebook, Norris Weeks announced she went to “war” over gathering votes for the November election. She touted her role in the 2012 Souls To The Polls. She even praised Dale Holness for his hard work for Gillum.

Where is Burnadette Norris Weeks?
