Did Laurie Rich Levinson Campaign Taunt Opponents Over MSD Eagle Statue?

Over nine days of early voting it became perfectly clear the Laurie Rich Levinson campaign did not want voters to hear from survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shootings. In Weston, Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) deputies were repeatedly called by Levinson supporters over bogus complaints regarding supporters of her opponent Dr. Richard Mendelson. One of his biggest supporters is Andrew Pollack, father of MSD student Meadow Pollack. In Davie, Mendelson was joined all week by the brother and sister of MSD hero Aaron Feis.

As REDBROWARD previously reported, Johanna Feis claimed the spouse of the Broward School Member, Neil Levinson screamed in her face over discussions with voters. Laterin the week, Mr. Levinson was replaced by his son Daniel Levinson and a team of Broward Teacher Union flunkies. REDBROWARD published video showing Daniel Levinson telling voters about Mendelson’s alleged party affiliation.

But the lowest point came on Sunday. All week, the Mendelson campaign has displayed items celebrating the lives lost at Marjory Stoneman Douglas. These items included a photographs, a football helmet, a graduation stole and a trophy bearing the image of an eagle, the MSD mascot.

According to Johanna Feis, the eagle trophy was given to family members at graduation.

The Levinson campaign set up a tent and table directly across from the MSD display. During the week, the table displayed mail pieces and handouts. But on Sunday, a bird statue appeared at the center of the table. It appeared to be a duck statue.

The Feis family saw the display as desperate, low-class taunt from the Laurie Rich Levinson campaign. On Twitter, Feis wrote:

2018 MSD Graduation. We were given an Eagle statue that Read. ‘Always In Our Hearts MSD Strong’ Today they decided to bring out this …… looks like they have Eagle envy.”

Stay classy, Team Levinson.

Laurie Rich Levinson Begs For Partisan Help In Late Night Plea To Local Democrats

This video doesn’t exist
Since early voting started last Saturday, Laurie Rich Levinson and her Broward Teachers Union (BTU) supporters have desperately tried to make the School Board District 6 race into a partisan contest. Levinson and the BTU begged voters to cast ballots based on partisan issues like guns and union support. Her opponent, Richard Mendelson and his supporters have constantly told voters that school safety and protecting our children is not a partisan issue. Last night, Mendelson released a campaign video driving home the point.

A majority of early voters seem to buy Mendelson’s non-partisan pro-safety argument. For this reason, the Levinson campaign has grown increasingly desperate. Levinson’s husband Neil Levinson screamed in the face of Coach Aaron Feis’ sister while a BTU leader laughed when Feis’ family discussed his ultimate sacrifice protecting students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Even though the Levinson camp has been aggressive, they have repeatedly call local police to the voting sites in Weston and Davie.

Levinson and her team have been rattled by Mendelson supporters who lost family on February 14 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School telling voters to support Mendelson.

The Levinson campaign is so desperate for support, Laurie Rich Levinson sent a 2am email begging for help. The email was shared with a who’s who of Democrats, including office holders and party leaders.

The email was even shared with Laurie Rich Levinson’s mother, Broward County Commissioner Nan Rich.

Subject: Election Day Volunteering for Laurie Rich Levinson Campaign

Election Day is Tuesday, August 28th! The voting hours are 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

To continue fighting to enhance our children’s education, I need volunteers to help me at the polls on Election Day!

My opponent is bringing people in from outside the district to attack my recordĀ and misinform voters.

I need your help to fight back and ensure that voters know what I have achieved for our students on the School Board.

Election Day polling locations in my district are in Weston, Davie, Cooper City, Plantation, and Sunrise.

I remain committed to making Broward’s public schools among the best anywhere. And with your support and volunteer hours, I’ll continue to do just that!

Thank you for all your help,

Nothing New About The Use Of Intimidating Tactics By Laurie Rich Levinson Campaign

This week, supporters of Broward School Member Laurie Rich Levinson, including her husband Neil Levinson, have been accused of intimidating family members of Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting victims at early voting locations. On Saturday, loud supporters screamed at the wife and young child of her opponent Richard Mendelson. On Sunday, Neil Levinson allegedly yelled in the face of Johanna Feis, the younger sister of slain MSD coach-hero Aaron Feis. The Levinson campaign appears to have a history of these bullying tactics.

Back in August 2010, supporters of Laurie Rich Levinson told Weston voters to ignore the Broward Teachers Union (BTU) co-endorsement of Levinson and School Board Member Phyllis Hope. Broward CleanSweep obtained video of Hope supporter Patrick Joubin finally confronting one of Levinson’s supporters. Watch as the Levinson supporter plays the victim when asked about her dirty campaign tactics.
