    Oh Tommy. Just couldn’t help yourself could you. Bookmarking the story with a couple of the Trumpster’s latest bullshit tweets as though either carries even a modicum of an intelligent response from someone looking at possibly being sentenced to years behind bars. After finally showing a passing modicum of being a real reporter in your several postings regarding the latest Tamarac Commission debacle a la Shaker Village you fall back on being DJT’s cheerleader by inserting a couple of worthless tweets as though they have even a smidgen of truth or critical reporting value to them. You seriously can do a whole lot better for someone claiming to be an “investigative reporter”

    Let me help you out Tom. For starters, prior to Donald Trump no President while in or out of office was ever indicted on criminal charges. So, maybe DJT is “winning” in one respect, he’s beaten 45 other Presidents to the criminal indictment circuit. DJT has now been indicted 3 times in just the past couple of months. The first indictment was secured by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in New York in April. It concerned hush money paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels.The second indictment was secured by Jack Smith, who is the federal special counsel investigating Trump, over Trump’s post-presidential handling of classified documents and efforts to keep federal officials from taking them back. And, now The indictment, handed up via Jack Smith in Washington today, includes four counts under the following statutes:
    Conspiracy to defraud the United States (18 U.S. Code § 371);
    Corruptly obstructing an official proceeding (18 U.S. Code § 1512);
    and conspiracy against constitutional or statutory rights (18 U.S. Code § 241).

    And, of course, any day now, Trump is at risk of being indicted in Fulton County, Georgia, over the post-election calls he made to Georgia state officials and his other efforts to overturn the election.

    Now, for the benefit of your readers, The new charge of conspiracy to defraud the United States involves an agreement between at least two people, related to committing another crime, with at least one co-conspirator making at least one overt act to further the conspiracy.

    The indictment alleges that Trump and others “conspire(d)” to “obstruct” and “defeat” the “lawful federal government function by which the results of the presidential election are collected, counted and certified by the federal government.”

    By the law, the conspiracy’s goal does not have to be achieved; a failure to achieve the goal, such as overturning the 2020 presidential election, does not negate the conspiracy.

    Meanwhile, the indictment’s inclusion of two charges of corruptly obstructing an official proceeding, specifies that Trump and his co-conspirators worked to “corruptly obstruct and impede an official proceeding, that is, the certification of the electoral vote.”

    Finally, the indictment alleges a conspiracy against constitutional or statutory rights by saying that Trump conspired with others “to injure, oppress, threaten, and intimidate one or more persons in the free exercise and enjoyment of a right and privilege secured to them by the Constitution and laws of the United States, that is, the right to vote, and to have one’s vote counted.”

    There we go Tom. Reporting. See, it’s not too hard when one seeks to engage in objective reporting for the benefit of his/her readers who, of course, deserve to have a clear understanding of what is behind 45’s various and growing criminal indictments here.

      Despite what you’ve gleaned from MSNBC, Trump’s latest indictment is newsworthy. His posts on a rather obscure social media platform is newsworthy. And a press release from his campaign is newsworthy. The post is objective. Clearly, you are not. Have a great night Eric!

        Au contraire Mr. Lauder and I don’t watch MSNBC but it doesn’t remotely surprise me that you’d be so snide…albeit for me to suggest you’ve got a subscription to that bastion of objective reporting, the 3 Horses’ Asses of the Apocalypse Fox/Newsmax/OAN, but I wouldn’t do that. And, yes we both agree that Trump’s latest in a string of unprecedented criminal indictments is very newsworthy. But, there’s where are reporter chops diverge. See, I actually took the time to enlighten the readers to what each of the indictments actually are that he will now be prosecuted over. In short, an objective overview of the actual legal indictments filed here. You, instead, said virtually nothing about the actual charges or the basis for the same and, instead, decided to bookend your “story” with some social media blabber that has no basis in reality (as in there hasn’t been a shred of evidence disclosed to date to support his bombastic statements concerning President Biden), have zero to do with the charges brought against him and you now claim you were just being “objective.” Why not just through in a couple of his claims behind the Big Lie while you’re at it. So, yes, dear Tom, there is nothing in my post that isn’t objective insofar as it provides the details behind the indictment and the equally very newsworthy point that he’s the first President in history to actually be criminally indicted. There is nothing remotely objective set forth in the social media spot and “press release” you highlight and I suspect you know that too. Enjoy your evening in kind.

    Sorry, Tom. I have to agree with @boomerbabysage. There is NO context to your story. The indictment wasn’t included, nor were any of the charges. Just DJT’s rant against Biden and the investigation. Objective? No.

      The cover page of indictment listing the charges was included. The Truth Social posts were shared without opinion. Like them or not, the posts were newsworthy.
