Fights Break Out At Pro-Hamas Rally In Fort Lauderdale

Supporters of Israel were attacked by pro-Hamas forces on a busy Fort Lauderdale street Sunday afternoon. Two rallies were held on East Sunrise Blvd near US 1 in Fort Lauderdale. A pro-Israel rally was planned for 3PM while a pro-Hamas rally had a 4:30PM start time. Earlier in the day, Fort Lauderdale Police warned residents about potential traffic issues.

A video posted by Javier Manjarres of the Floridian Press shows police attempting to stop fighting in the middle of the busy thoroughfare. At ine point, it appears an officer uses chemical spray on some participants.

Governor Ron DeSantis Denounces Pro-Hamas Rally In Fort Lauderdale

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis denounced a pro-Hamas rally planned for Sunday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale. This protest has the support of radical left-wing groups such as the Miami-Dade chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America.

“The rallies in Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale supporting Hamas are abhorrent.

Hamas is a terrorist group that is dedicated to the destruction of Israel and commits atrocities to further that end.

We are proud of the relationship between Florida and Israel and remember well the support we received from the IDF following the Surfside tower collapse.
