Plantation Police responded to West Regional Library on Friday
On Friday morning, Plantation Police were called to the West Regional Library to help remove homeless campers. According to Library officials, a new law, effective November 1st, prohibits patrons from bringing large bags and carts inside the library. Earlier this week, REDBROWARD revealed the existence of a homeless encampment on the second floor of the library.
H. Wayne Clark, a Republican running for Plantation City Council Group 5, has brought the homeless encampment problem to the forefront of the campaign.
Clark has urged officials to remove encampments at the library, the library parking garage and the County bus depot. This week, all 3 encampments were cleared out.
Democrat candidate Louis Reinstein refused to respond to our request for comment.
Worse than silence, Reinstein has told numerous voters that the City is powerless to combat the homeless problem.
Clark’s steadfast opposition to this do-nothing mentality has produced real results.
