Mayor Michelle Gomez took the oath of office Tuesday afternoon at a packed ceremony in Tamarac. Gomez defeated Elberg Mike Gelin earlier this month. Also taking the oath of office were two new commissioners, Kicia Daniel and Morey Wright Jr.

It was an inspirational acceptance speech by the Mayor. Her first term as Mayor was truly a trying one for her. Thankfully, she survived all that was thrown her way and she has emerged stronger than ever. The speeches from Morey Wright, Jr. and Dr. Kecia Daniel were also hopeful and inspiring. Moreover, everyone recognized the OUTSTANDING employees that are working for the residents. I am looking forward to a united City of Tamarac. That is the best thing that could happen to each and every Tamaracian!!
