During the March 23, 2022 City of Tamarac Commission meeting, Marlon Bolton (D-Clown) called Mayor Michelle Gomez a “monster.” Why was Gomez a “monster?” She dared to question the propriety of a developer promising a $500,000 donation to homeless initiatives as part of a negotiation for a proposed development. Bolton was unable to spot the enormous ethical red flag raised by such a proposal.
When Commissioner Elvin Villalobos brought up Bolton’s name calling at the April 13th meeting, Bolton decided to apologize for his “monster” remark. He admitted that it was not a “nice” thing to do. Bolton even hoped Tamarac Talk and other online news sites would feature his apology.
Did Marlon Bolton see the light? Would he finally stop the attacks on women (especially Jewish women) in the City of Tamarac?
Nope.
Ten days later, The Tamarac Post, a fake news website tied to Marlon Bolton, ran a story about the $500,000 homeless donation. The propaganda piece by phantom author “Maria Colson” lavished praise on Bolton while repeating his unverified claims of once being homeless for a few days.
The Tamarac Post went on to attack Mayor Gomez for opposing the idea of forcing developers to make donations to charities as part of an approval process.
Today, The Tamarac Post ran another screed from Marlon Bolton under the “Maria Colson” byline. On Friday, Bolton used social media to launch an attack on “Journalists” who cover the shenanigans at Tamarac City Hall. The Tamarac Post claims Bolton emailed his social media attack to city residents.
During Thursday’s meeting, Bolton and co-hort Elberg Mike Gelin attacked the Sun-Sentinel and the Broward Office of the Inspector General as well.
Talk about cowardly.
