Pompano Beach Commissioner Alison Fournier refused to provide a statement to detectives investigating her male companion for allegedly beating a sixty-four year old resident at a local restaurant, official records show. On the evening of November 10, 2025 the sixty-four year old victim was sitting with then-Pompano Beach assistant city manager Earl Bosworth at Legends Tavern and Grill. According to Broward Sheriff’s Office Investigation Report obtained by REDBROWARD, the two men were approached by Alison Fournier and her “male companion,” Robert Hendren. The report states Fournier, in an “argumentative fashion,”engaged the men in a debate about Pompano politics. Hendren went to purchase alcoholic beverages. After Hendren returned to the table, he exchanged angry words with the victim.
Hoping to diffuse the situation, the victim attempted to leave the table. According to witnesses, Hendren blocked the victim’s attempted escape. Hendren raised his fist and shoved the victim into bushes near the table.
Surveillance video was reviewed by detectives. “Video shows some exchange of words between (VICTIM) and Mr. Hendren and shortly thereafter Mr. Hendren walks around Mr.Bosworth and Vice Mayor Fournier and shoves Mr. Gingerich into the hedges,” the report states.
Investigation report indicates Fournier and Hendren left the scene. “Once separated, both Ms. Fournier and Mr. Hendren left the establishment without saying a word to anyone,” the report states.
On November 13, 2025, an investigator went to Alison Fournier’s home to speak with her about the incident. He wrote, “Fournier advised that she would like to speak with her attorney first prior to giving a statement.”
The next day, the investigator received an email from the attorney representing Hendren. The email tried to blame the victim.
The attorney wrote, “We have reason to believe that this is a politically motivated complaint and that this was a situation initially instigated by [the VICTIM] and any alleged conduct exhibited by Mr. Hendren was the result of mutual combat.” The lawyer claimed the victim was inebriated and instigated the confrontation. The attorney cited self-defense statutes to excuse any physical actions by his client.
The attorney was unaware the entire incident was captured on video.
One week later, the BSO investigator and a BSO sergeant returned to Alison Fournier’s home to inquire about a statement.
“Fournier…advised that she doesn’t wish to provide a statement,” he wrote. “Ms. Fournier advised that she consulted with her attorney and was advised not to provide a statement at this time.”
This encounter was recorded by a police body worn camera.
According to Broward County Clerk of Court records, Robert Hendren was charged with battery in December 2025. Hendren plead not guilty. The case comes before a Broward judge next month.
Alison Fournier is listed as a witness.

REDBROWARD asked Alison Fournier about this matter. She has not responded.
Why wouldn’t Alison Fournier defend a sixty-four year old man shoved by her much younger male companion?
If the victim was truly at fault, why wouldn’t Alison Fournier tell investigators?
Why does Alison Fournier, a mere witness in this matter, need to consult a lawyer before talking to the police?
When Pompano Beach residents needed help, Alison Fournier chose to remain silent.
