Authorities have charged Stephen Bowen with the premeditated first-degree murder of his wife, Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen. He was also charged with tampering with physical evidence. Bowen is being held at the Broward County Jail.

Metayer Bowen was a rising star in Democrat politics. Sources tell REDBROWARD Metayer Bowen reached out to local politicians earlier this week regarding a potential run for US Congress.
