James Fox Miller, the uncle of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, loves to share his thoughts with the world. In addition to a vanity blog, Miller posts a daily stream of consciousness blog on Facebook from his villa in Florence, Italy. REDBROWARD recently reported how Miller revealed his wife, Broward Democrat lobbyist Barbara Miller, worked for FTX. Miller’s law firm, Boies Schiller, is rumored to represent investors angry at professional athletes who promoted FTX.
So, why did James Fox Miller spend Wednesday morning blogging about NFL quarterbacks and cryptocurrency?
Miller wrote, “Remember all those high salary athletes who chose to be paid in crypto? I hope they diversified their asset portfolio or they took a huge hit as they ever had on the field. I think Aaron Rodgers was paid some of his salary in Bitcoin. Trevor Lawrence took his entire $22 million plus signing bonus in Bitcoin. Oh my!”
Oh my is right. Miller has his facts totally wrong.
Jacksonville Jaquars QB Trevor Lawrence did not get his signing bonus in Bitcoin. In fact, Lawrence signed a lucrative endorsement deal with FTX!
“Trevor Lawrence is the future of professional football and cryptocurrency is the future of money, so the partnership was a no-brainer,” said Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of Blockfolio. “But as impressive as Trevor is on-the-field, I was most impressed with his character and charitable focus off the field.”
Did SBF tell Uncle Jimmy about the deals with NFL QBs like Trevor Lawrence and Tom Brady?
Was Uncle Jimmy always so wary of cryptocurrency?
Why is Uncle Jimmy even talking about crypto?
