An unhinged rant by Plantation City Council Candidate Rico Petrocelli drew boos from the audience at a forum Tuesday evening. Petrocelli grew angry as he recalled years-old attacks by Mayoral candidate Pete Tingom. Petrocelli claimed Tingom said he was “going to jail.”

Petrocelli said Tingom “abused his family and treated me like crap.” Claiming he knows all the good and bad stuff about the players in Plantation, Petrocelli claimed Chamber of Commerce honcho Siobhan Edwards would not get along with a Mayor Lynn Stoner.

By then, audience members had enough. They booed Petrocelli. Several audience members told him to sit down. One yelled, “disrespectful” when Petrocelli refused to stop talking.

Rico replied, “you can boo but it’s the truth.”

Petrocelli is running against Ximena Hommel, Denise Horland and Jesse Walaschek.

For weeks, a homemade Rico Petrocelli campaign sign hung in a tree at the intersection of West Broward Boulevard and SW 54th Avenue. But as early voting began, the sign came down when the resident decided to support Petrocelli’s opponent, Jesse Walaschek. The wooden Rico sign was replaced with the standard blue & white Walaschek campaign sign.

But Rico still wanted all those eyeballs stuck waiting at the busy intersection.

Earlier this week, REDBROWARD obtained video recorded by the resident’s Ring camera. The video shows Rico Petrocelli’s Ford Five Hundred sedan, with magnetic Rico campaign sign, leaving the private property. After Petrocelli left, the resident found a new Rico sign on the property. The sign was removed

On Halloween morning, Petrocelli returned to the resident’s house. The video shows Petrocelli pull into the driveway, park, exit the vehicle, open the trunk and place a campaign sign in the yard.

As luck would have it, this reporter was driving past the home around 7:45am and spotted Petrocelli pulling out of the driveway.

Why does Petrocelli keep entering private property? Will the resident call police? Does Rico know Ring doorbells are everywhere?
