Ted Deutch Needs Taylor Swift’s Help To Reach Broward Voters

Forget Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Congressman Ted Deutch has called in a true superstar to bolster his chances in a new congressional district. Last week, Deutch announced he was swapping districts with the very sleepy Lois Frankel. Democrats were worried Frankel would lose a new district lacking her traditional West Palm Beach base. In an email to donors, Deutch likened his new race to Taylor Swift song.

Deutch wrote, “Some of you know I love music, so when the Florida Supreme Court approved new Congressional districts last week, I thought of Taylor Swift: ‘I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22.'”

Get it? Deutch’s new seat would be District 22. Of course, Ted Deutch, a 50 year old man, immediately thinks of a 2012 Taylor Swift song.

Yeah, right.

Deutch wants voters to contribute $22 dollars to help him reach new voters in Broward.

FL CFO Jeff Atwater Endorses J.B. Bensmihen For US Congress

Jeff Atwater, the highly popular Chief Financial Officer for the State of Florida, has endorsed Joseph “JB” Bensmihen for U.S. Congress District 22.  Besmihen is seeking the Republican nomination to represent voters in southern Palm Beach County and Broward County. Earlier this week, reports claimed Democrat Congressman Ted Deutch would seek the District 22 seat allowing Congresswoman Lois Frankel to retreat to a friendlier West Palm Beach seat.

“JB has spent his entire lifetime helping the most vulnerable and less fortunate and he has the private sector experience necessary to make an immediate impact in Congress ,” said Jeff Atwater. “JB has impressed me with his dedication to the community, and I am confident that he will deliver the type of leadership and solutions we need in Washington.”

“I am extremely honored to have the backing of such a well-respected leader in our state,” said Bensmihen. “Our campaign continues to be encouraged by all of the support throughout the state, and having  CFO Atwater on the team will be a huge asset going forward.”

According to his campaign, Bensmihen is the former owner of United Elder Care Services and Boca Home Care Inc. Bensmihen is also a member of the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation and serves on the Governing Board of West Boca medical Center. J.B is board member of Stand Among Friends, a disability advocacy organization housed on the campus of Florida Atlantic University.
