Broward Republican Lead Over Democrats Is More Than 24,000 As Election Day Draws To Close

The Broward Republican vote total over Democrats continues to grow as Election Day draws to close. As of 5:00PM Tuesday, the Broward Supervisor of Elections (SOE) reports voter turnout is nearly thirteen percent for the Republican Presidential Primary and municipal elections in Hillsboro Beach, Lauderdale By The Sea and Pembroke Pines. The Florida Democrat Party chose to forego a primary for President Joe Biden.

With two hours left to vote, SOE reports 31,890 Republicans have cast ballots. Only 7,583 Democrats voted so far. The current Republican lead is 24,307 votes.

A preliminary review of voting on local level shows the Republican advantage is lessened by the number of “other” voters in municipal elections. Votes cast by residents registered as “other” were outpacing partisan voters on Tuesday afternoon.

Only registered Republicans can vote in the Presidential primary. Former President Donald Trump is the clear favorite to win the primary.

Polls close at 7:00PM.
