Does Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse serve pizza? Who knows, but Craig Miller, GOP candidate for US Senate, will hit the Florida airwaves with a commercial featuring former Presidential candidate Herman Cain. The Orlando Sentinel reports the first commercial in the Florida US Senate race will air on Sunday on FOX. Miller hopes to send Bill Nelson (D-Sleepy) into retirement. Miller (along with Adam Hasner) is bringing up the rear of GOP candidates. Congressman Connie Mack leads the pack with Senator George LeMieux and Lt Col. Mike McCalister vying for second place.

This coming Monday, Craig Miller will speak at the monthly meeting of the Broward Republican Executive Committee. This event is open to the public.

The Orlando Sentinel reports:

“Using footage from a press conference last week, the new commercial begins by showing Cain declare, ‘Washington doesn’t need more politicians. They already have too many. That’s why we need people like Craig Miller.’

Then in Cain’s trademark style of emphasizing points, he concludes, ‘He gets it.’

The commercial continues with footage of flags and Cain and Miller warmly shaking hands as Cain talks about Miller’s background as a businessman, leader of several national restaurant chains including Pizzeria Uno and Ruth’s Chris. Screen text also notes Miller served in the Air Force.”

A new poll shows Congressman Connie Mack leading the GOP field to retire Senator Bill Nelson (D-Sleepy). Poll shows most GOP voters are still undecided. Here is the story from The News Service of Florida (click here)

“The survey of 780 Republican voters, conducted from Dec. 15-19, shows Mack — the son of a former senator and grandson of a famous baseball manager — carrying 39 percent of the vote, far outpacing the rest of the field.

Former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux, tea-party favorite Mike McCalister and former state House Majority Leader Adam Hasner all trailed in single-digits. Former steakhouse executive Craig Miller, who was not included in the poll, has long been stuck in single-digits in other polls.

‘Mack owns this at the moment, and it is his to lose,’ said Bill Lee, a Republican pollster who co-founded TelOpinion and polled contested primary states for U.S. Sen. John McCain’s presidential bid in 2008. Lee’s firm is not working for any of the candidates or so-called Super PACs this cycle.”
