Governor Ron DeSantis, CFO Blaise Ingoglia To Hold Broward Press Conference Tuesday Morning

Sorry Broward County government officials, it wasn’t a bad dream. DOGE is really coming to the 954.

Yesterday, REDBROWARD reported on a letter sent to Broward County Mayor Beam Furr from the Florida Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and brand new Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia. Furr was put on notice that Florida DOGE officials will visit the Broward Government Center at the end of July to investigate waste and spending.

To emphasize the seriousness of the DOGE investigation, Ingoglia will join Governor Ron DeSantis at a Tuesday morning press conference in Fort Lauderdale.

Hopefully this press conference will force the local media to finally cover this important story.

Stay tuned.

Tallahassee Tells Broward County It’s DOGE Time

Florida CFO Blaise Ingoglia.

He may have been sworn into office today, but new Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia already made his presence known in Broward County. Ingoglia and the Florida Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) sent a letter to Broward County Mayor Beam Furr on Monday detailing the State’s plan to investigate spending. News of the DOGE letters was first reported on X by E.W. Scripps reporter Forrest Saunders. One letter was sent to Broward County, another to the City of Gainesville.

Governor Ron DeSantis has repeatedly questioned the possible misuse of Broward County taxpayers’ money.

“Governor DeSantis has charged us, through Florida’s DOGE effort, to identify and report on this type of excessive spending at the county and municipal level,” Ingoglia wrote.

On July 11, 2025, the State requested information “linking Broward County‘s sources of revenue to its expenditures.” Apparently, DOGE discovered more information was needed.

Ingoglia and DOGE wants access to County premises, data systems, personnel for two days at the end of month.

DOGE states Broward County may face financial penalties if they fail to comply.
