Pembroke Park Police Chief Daniel DeCoursey blasted Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony for making “false statements” about his department during a Friday morning press conference. DeCoursey was joined by several of members of the Pembroke Park P.D. as well as union representatives.
DeCoursey said he was “discouraged and astonished” by disparaging remarks made by Sheriff Tony last Wednesday.
Declaring that police work is not a game, DeCoursey said Sheriff Tony cast an “unwarranted shadow” on the men and women of the Pembroke Park Police Department.
DeCoursey said Tony made “false statements” about former BSO employees now working for Pembroke Park. DeCoursey denied Tony’s allegations that the former BSO employees were fired for misconduct.
He said Tony lied about BSO handling a “majority of calls” in Pembroke Park, residents begging for BSO to return to the town and allegations that Pembroke Park Police are understaffed.
Andrew LaFramboise, a Broward FOP union representative, reiterated that his membership never participated in a “no confidence” vote regarding Deerfield Beach City Manager Rodney Brimlow.
As REDBROWARD first reported, Tony attacked Brimlow last Wednesday during a district wide teleconference. Tony’s remarks sparked an inquiry by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

The good Doctor is a pathological liar and a criminal with a badge. Governor DeSantis fix the mess you created by removing him from office. Leaving him there is detrimental to the citizens of Broward County and most importantly, the people who work for the Broward sheriffs office.
