Mother of Transgender Broward Volleyball Player Complains About Privacy, Fails To Mention Her Numerous Public Appearances With Daughter

The Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel now reporting on a statement issued by the mother of D.N. the transgender volleyball player at Monarch High School in Coconut Creek. Earlier today, REDBROWARD revealed the student, with parents at her side, spoke to the Broward School Board during a 2017 public meeting. Even though the child was just ten years old, District officials used her name.

In her statement today, D.N.’s mother claims the naming of her daughter is dangerous. “There is a long history in this country of outing people against their will — forced outing, particularly of a child, is a direct attempt to endanger the person being outed,” she said. “We kindly ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy, and to give our family the space we need to speak to our experience on our own terms and timeline.”

The District posted pictures of the transgender family on its social media accounts. (REDBROWARD continues to obscure images of minor and not publish her name)

In addition to the School Board speech, the mother used her full name in a Sun-Sentinel story about an award she received for transgender advocacy. The mother was part of the 2017 Pride Center Diversity Honors ceremony. The mother posed for pictures with her husband and two children.

All images are still posted on social media and the Sun-Sentinel website.

I can’t agree with you on this one, Tom. Most of her fellow students, let alone their parents, had no idea that the girl was transgender. One of the suspended school board employees had no idea. Because the family spoke at a SBBC meeting does not equate to “publicity.” Other than those at the meeting, there was no media report of the event.

The state law is flawed, discriminatory, and is having a horrific effect on the transgender students in FloriDuh. To equate this child as a boy, with more strength and sports abilities than a girl of the same age is ludicrous! The child has been on gender specific medication for years, to assist her in her transgender journey.

Being Transgender is not, “a phase,” that this child is going through. Gender dysphoria is real. Medical experts have guided this family for years. They are not experimenting, but are following accepted medical standards.

It is our ego-maniacal governor and his sycophantic legislature that have it wrong. Why in the world do they believe that they are medical experts. The damage that they are doing to our children, to our state, to our schools, is immeasurable. Their prejudices have overwhelmed their intelligence. FOR SHAME!!!

Tom you are right! She outed her own child many times and is now crying foul! How can she possibly sue when she put her own child on public display by purposely violating the law. There is also questionsince she did e pose her publicly so long ago that right there wiuld probably waive her privacy rights because she knew that was a very public and recorded meeting.
