Broward Mayor Dale Holness Cancels Your Fourth Of July Plans But His Big Money Fundraiser Is Still A Go

Facemasks required???

Broward County Mayor Dale Holness says you should stay home due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. Holness declared the beaches closed this Fourth Of July weekend. Holness announced hefty fines to be levied against businesses who do not follow the edicts from Broward County Government leaders. Holness even touted a website where neighbors can snitch on neighbors who do not follow the rules. Clearly, Dale Holness wants residents to lockdown.

Unless you want to contribute to his re-election campaign.

While Dale Holness declared much of the County closed for business, he invited wealthy supporters to an upcoming fundraiser. Even though he does not have a real opponent in the District 9 race, Dale Holness has raised more than $145,000 for his campaign. Guess that’s not enough to beat a nobody and a write-in candidate.

In two weeks, Dale Holness and Terrence “D Merge” Davis will host a fundraiser at Joy’s Roti Delight in Lauderhill. Located in the parking lot of The Lauderhill Mall, Joy’s Roti Delight is more banquet hall/dance venue than restaurant. Is this the type of event Mayor Dale Holness should throw in this age of COVID-19?

Doesn’t such a fundraiser smack of hypocrisy coming on the heels on the harsh measures Holness introduced this week?

We’re joking! The rules never apply to Broward County Politicians!

Get out your checkbooks (and don’t forget your facemasks).
