First, Pembroke Pines City Commissioner Jay Schwartz wanted to change Jewish American month to Muslim American month. Now, Schwartz wants a rally at city hall to protest (non-existent) violence against Muslim immigrants. Doesn’t the Pembroke Pines police department have better things to do?

Schwartz is protesting President Donald Trump’s 90 day review of people coming to the United States from seven terrorist supporting nations.

On Facebook, Schwartz announced the Pines police chief had approved of Tuesday’s rally at city hall. Schwartz wants people to hold hands and wave flags. Thanks Jay, good thing traffic doesn’t already stink on Pines Boulevard. Oh wait….

In an email to elected officials, Schwartz wrote, “Immigrants who come here legally and get their green cards on a path to Citizenship should not fear their Federal Government would take away their rights or live in fear of violence.”

In the same email, Schwartz tries to liken President Donald Trump’s executive order to the treatment of Jews in 1939. He wrote, “The United States…turned away a ship full of Jews trying to escape religious persecution and sent them back to Europe to die. In 2017, the 45th President of the United States is repeating history in a similar act.”

Schwartz posted a picture of him holding hands with Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress. Last month, Ellison came under fire for his support of Louis Farrakhan, a “rabid anti-Semite.”

According to Mediate, ” While a student at the University of Minnesota Law School, he wrote several articles defending Farrakhan, and later worked with the Nation of Islam for eighteen months.”

“Aides to Mr. Ellison were going to make him available for a telephone interview, but then declined when informed that he would be asked about his past comments on Mr. Farrakhan,” The New York Times reported. “They emailed a list of his links to the Jewish community and a statement that said, ‘Democrats need an organizer who will energize the grass-roots across this country to build the party from the bottom up.’”

Last March, REDBROWARD reported Schwartz attended several EMERGE USA PAC events in 2015 and a August 2016 candidate forum at a Sunrise mosque. Schwartz spoke at a 2015 including a Ramadan dinner celebration. According to one published report, Schwartz spoke about “changing” America at a February 2015 EMERGE USA event. Schwartz said, ““[T]here’s a group of people, in this room, who are changing America as we know it, and that’s a great thing… If there’s anything I can do to help the cause, I’m a phone call away.”

Enough with the pandering, Jay.
