Van Jones, communist and former Obama Green Jobs czar, wants to bring the Arab Spring to your hometown. Rebuild The Dream, Jones’ AstroTurf tea party wannabe group, wants to duplicate the Arab revolutions and repeat the public-pooping fun of the dirty Occupy Wall Street gatherings. Maybe they will hold screenings of Professor Derrick Bell’s Space Traders?

Here’s the email from Van Jones & Co:

“I don’t know about you, but last year, I was inspired.

I was inspired by the protesters of the Arab Spring who stood up to totalitarian governments, and inspired by the Occupy movement here in America. I was inspired by the students at UC Davis who took pepper spray in the face and didn’t budge, because they knew their cause was more important than retaliation.

We now have the opportunity to turn that inspiration into action as part of the 99% Spring — 100,000 Americans taking part in an unprecedented national training to prepare to continue non-violent direct action in the tradition of Ghandi and Dr. King.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be talking more about what this training will look like and what it will mean for our movement, but first things first: we need some amazing folks to step up to host the trainings — click here if you’re interested!
Here’s what you need to know about the trainings:

You do NOT have to be an expert on the economy or non-violence! You’ll get the support and resources you need to lead a great training. All you need is to be willing and able to bring people together in a positive and welcoming way.

The trainings will serve to educate folks about economic disparity in America as well as the history of peaceful, direct action — this is the first crucial step to prepare for taking more actions down the road, such as protests at shareholder meetings.

The trainings will take place during the week of April 9-15, 2012.
Your training can be as small or large as you like: you could host ten friends in your living room or plan an event for a hundred of your neighbors in a local community center or house of worship — or anything in between.
No matter the size of your training, you’ll have organizers to help you with logistics as well as a fantastic 99% Spring “train the trainer” session (more on that soon).
The Occupy movement birthed a new generation of American activists, and our potential for effecting change is limitless. However, it’s critical that we learn and impart best practices culled over decades of non-violent direct action spanning from the Civil Rights movement through today. Rebuild the Dream is joining with dozens of leading organizations, all collaborating on this massive grassroots training project. All together, we’re turning the page on a new chapter of American activism, and it starts with the 99% Spring.”
