#NotFoolingUs: Sparse Turnout For Teachers Union Anti-DeSantis Protest In Miami

Based on attendance and online viewership, an anti-Ron DeSantis protest organized by the United Teachers of Dade (UTD), the Broward Teachers Union (BTU) and the American Federation Of Teachers (AFT) was a complete dud. The protest, dubbed “Not Fooling Us, was held Saturday morning at the County Government Center in downtown Miami. The protest featured guests such as AFT president Randi Weingarten, UTD president Karla Hernandez-Mats and BTU president Anna Fusco.

Photos of the event posted on social media show a sparse crowd made up of Union representatives and teachers. A livestream on Facebook boasted a meager 11 viewers for most of the event. It looks like most south Florida teachers, parents and students were the ones not “fooled” into attending the protest.

South Florida Teacher Unions Launch Attack On Governor Ron DeSantis

The United Teachers Of Dade launched a new attack on Governor Ron DeSantis. Dubbed “Not Fooling Us,” the new campaign highlights the same old tired Democrat attacks on Republicans. The Broward Teachers Union shared the new campaign with its members.

The website for the campaign states, “We are struggling to keep politics out of classrooms so we can focus on teaching math, science, reading and honest history, which will help our kids prepare for college and career. But Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is too busy attacking teachers and passing laws to criminalize them.”

The website shares Democrat talking points on guns and healthcare as well.

The unions promise a rally on April 1st at the Miami-Dade Government Center.
