Governor Ron DeSantis was in Davie this morning to sign legislation protecting the Florida Everglades and Lake Okeechobee. Governor DeSantis was accompanied by Seminole Tribe Chairman Marcellus Osceola and angler Scott Martin. Championed by Florida Senate President Kathleen Passidomo, the new law uses money from the Seminole gaming compact to pay for programs which protect Florida’s natural resources.

Other prominent guests at the bill signing ceremony included “Alligator Ron” Bergeron, State Representative Chip LaMarca, and Broward County School Board Members Torey Alston, Brenda Fam and Daniel Foganholi.
