“See You In November!” Fort Lauderdale Residents Scream Lobbyist’s Name After Her Fort Commission Allies Reject Modest Raise For City Manager

Dr Warren Sturman (D-Whiny Baby)

Nearly thirty homeowners association officials and activists stormed out of the Parker Playhouse after the Fort Lauderdale commission failed to give City Manager Greg Chavarria a modest raise. The group had been unanimous in its praise of Chavarria at Tuesday’s meeting. But their praise fell on the deaf ears of lobbyist Judy Stern’s allies on the commission—Pamela Beasley Pittman, John Herbst and Warren Sturman (D-Tone Deaf).

Only Mayor Dean Trantalis and Commissioner Steve Glassman voted for the three percent raise.

Following the vote, Glassman yelled “shame” which prompted the petulant Herbst to call for a censure vote.

The gathered crowd was even more blunt. Several audience members yelled out “Judy Stern” or some other combination of her name. Others promised to voted the Stern allies out of office. “See you in November,” one member of the public yelled.

Judy Stern was not inside the auditorium.

No word if the Stern family hired someone to record the meeting, again.

SOURCES: Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Warren Sturman Wants To Fire City Manager Over Polite E-Mails To Former Commissioner

This cannot be real.

Multiple sources telling REDBROWARD that Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Warren Sturman (D-Whiny Baby) will make a motion to fire City Manager Greg Chavarria at tonight’s meeting.

Why does Sturman want to out Chavarria?

Sturman is mad Chavarria sent polite emails in response to an inquiry from a former city commissioner.

Sturman, a cardiologist, is so childish that he wants to fire a professional city manager for his courteous response to a former elected official?

Surely, Sturman’s petulant maneuvering has nothing to do with his close ties to lobbyist Judy Stern.

Last month, a Sun-Sentinel reporter revealed Stern arranged a meeting between Sturman and parties greatly interested in the building of a train bridge/tunnel over the Instracoastal Waterway. Sturman gave a laughable rationale for using a lobbyist to schedule his meetings.

As REDBROWARD previously reported, as chair of the Fort Lauderdale Charter Review Board, Stern urged new residency requirements for city managers. Fort Lauderdale insiders believe Stern is desperate to oust Chavarria from his post.

If Sturman makes the motion, will Stern allies John Herbst and Pamela Beasley Pittman go along with this costly and childish move?
