“Radical” Team Dale Holness Candidate Knocking On Doors For Dean Trantalis

Elijah Manley, self-described “radical” Broward County School Board candidate, is taking time out of his campaign to knock on doors for Fort Lauderdale mayoral candidate Dean Trantalis. In December, the twenty-something Manley told his Facebook friends he had spent the day knocking on doors for Trantalis. Manley has been endorsed by controversial Broward County Commissioner Dale Holness. Manley’s Facebook page is filled with troubling posts regarding Israel, socialism and other Broward politicians.

In numerous Facebook posts, Elijah Manley attacks the “Apartheid State of Israel.” He wants to “Free Palestine from the apartheid terrorist occupation called Israel.” Manley posted a vicious cartoon of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with the caption, “I don’t always send my troops to rape and kill Arab children, but when I do, American taxpayers fund it.”

In one post, Manley is asked what he would say to everyone in the world. He responded, “REVOLUTION. TEAR IT ALL DOWN.”

This is hardly mainstream thinking in Broward Democratic circles, right?

In other posts, Manley attacks local Broward politicians who opposed Dale Holness. He tells former State Senator Chris Smith to “go away” after receiving a Christmas greeting in the mail. Manley calls Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner Robert McKinzie “a dog.” Team Holness candidate Donna Guthrie is challenging McKinzie in the January 16th primary.

MANLEY WEBSITE REVEALS DEEP TIES TO DALE HOLNESS

On Elijah Manley’s official website, Damara Holness is listed as his campaign manger. Damara Holness is the daughter of Dale Holness. In 2014 REDBROWARD reported Damara Holness was dating County Commission District 2 write-in candidate Tyron Francois. In court testimony, Francois admitted he did not live in District 2. Many insiders believed Holness placed Francois in the race to help get his preferred candidate elected. While the State Attorney would later determine Francois committed perjury, no charges were ever filed.

On his campaign website, Manley claims to be endorsed by Dale Holness, Congressman Alcee Hastings, Green Party candidate Jill Stein and something called “Democratic Socialists Of America (Broward Chapter).”

Is Dean Trantalis seeking these endorsements as well?

Why is Dale Holness so eager to help Dean Trantalis? What does Dale Holness have planned for the City of Fort Lauderdale?

Voters deserve answers before next week’s primary.

Team Dale Holness Hosted December Fundraiser For Dean Trantalis

Last week, REDBROWARD reported the ties between Team Holness and a pro-Dean Trantalis email sent to Broward voters. The email urged voters to support Dean Trantalis, Donna Guthrie, Steve Glassman and Warren Sturman. The email claimed voters, “need responsive, accessible leadership with the fortitude to make the tough choices.”

The email lacked any proper disclaimer. It simply states it was sent from a marketing company in West Palm Beach. The company, FlyerSmith, has deep ties to Dale Holness.

December campaign records show Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Dean Trantalis’ mayoral campaign hired a consultant tied to controversial Broward County Commissioner Dale Holness. On December 13th, Trantalis paid $1,357 to SA Nelson And Associates for “marketing.” According to Florida business records, SA Nelson and Associates is owned by Sophia A. Nelson.

Florida Division Of Elections records show Sophia A. Nelson is the chairperson of the “A Better Florida For All” political committee. The address for this political committee is the same address found on the FlyerSmith email to Fort Lauderdale voters.

Division of Elections records show Omar Smith is the treasurer of the “A Better Florida For All” political committee.

Florida Business records show FlyerSmith is a fictitious name name tied to A Star For I, Inc. owned and operated by Omar M. Smith at 2930 Okeechobee Road in West Palm Beach. Campaign records show FlyerSmith has done extensive work for Broward County Commissioner Dale Holness. For his 2016 re-election campaign, Dale Holness paid Flyer Smith $15,161 for marketing, flyers, IT services and consulting.

Dean Trantalis never responded for comment regarding his ties to Dale Holness. Several of his supporters tried to deny any real ties to Holness. When reached by the Sun-Sentinel, Omar Smith told reporter Brittany Wallman he decided to send the email after receiving candidate emails. Uh-huh.

Smith made no mention of the December Dean Trantalis fundraiser hosted by his “A Better Florida For All” political committee.

TRANTALIS FUNDRAISER HELD AT DALE HOLNESS’ OFFICE

On December 7, 2017 A Better Florida For All hosted a fundraiser for Dean Trantalis. According to an announcement posted on the group’s Facebook page, the A Better Florida For All event was being held at 4325 West Sunrise Boulevard in Plantation. This is the address for All Broward Realty, a company owned by Dale Holness.

Holness has used his office as his own campaign headquarters as well as a base of operations for many of his favored candidates.

Why is Dean Trantalis so eager to have the support of Dale Holness? Why is Dale Holness so interested in the City of Fort Lauderdale? Has Dale Holness hosted similar fundraisers for Donna Guthrie, Steve Glassman and Warren Sturman?

Fort Lauderdale voters deserve answers.
