Red BROWARD heard rumors yesterday there would be am unexpected vacancy at the Broward County School Board. Today, newly elected School Board member Dave Thomas resigned effective Friday. Thomas said it was do health problems of his wife Cynthia Thomas.

Thomas won the election in November 2010. His seat was previously held by Stephanie Kraft.

Governor Rick Scott will name his replacement.
