Several Florida Panthers took the Stanley Cup for an early morning stroll along Fort Lauderdale beach Tuesday morning. The team won the NHL title late Monday night against the Edomonton Oilers. Lord Stanley’s Cup was spotted along Las Olas Boulevard before reaching the iconic Elbo Room bar on the beach. The beer was flowing before 11AM as fans gathering to soak up the fun.
REDBROWARD obtained footage showing police responding to a reported shooting on Fort Lauderdale beach late Monday. The video shows Fort Lauderdale Police racing along Las Olas Boulevard towards A1A shortly after 7:30PM on Memorial Day. The majority of police vehicles appeared to stop in front of the trouble Beach Place entertainment center just north of Las Olas. Other police vehicles were stationed along Seabreeze Blvd and Poinsettia Street. Online rumors that shooting occurred at the new city park on Las Olas and A1A are not correct.
One report claims two males were shot.
Police remained on scene until just after 8:30PM.
