
Deerfield Beach Commission voted 4-1 to start its own police force Tuesday night. The Commission rejected Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony’s strong arm tactics to keep BSO patrolling the streets of the northeast Broward city. Tony wanted a ten percent salary increase even though its contract with Deerfield Beach capped any increase at five percent.
