Florida State Representative Hillary Cassel is leaving the Democrat Party. Cassel, who represents southern Broward, announced she was joining the Republican Party. Cassel made the announcement Friday.
Saying she did not make the lightly, Cassel mentioned growing antisemitism in the Democrat party as a reason for her switch.
“I have been increasingly troubled by the Democratic Party’s failure to unequivocally support Israel and its willingness to tolerate extreme progressive voices that justify or condone acts of terrorism,” Cassel said.
She said she can no longer remain in a Democrat Party that “doesn’t represent my values.”

What a bunch of hypocrisy. She doesn’t want her kids judged with labels? It’s the Republican Party that labels kids and tries to indoctrinate them to their “values”. She’s worried about democrats not supporting Israel when the democrats have pumped billions of dollars into Israel, and have never not supported it. Look at all the antisemitism supported by all of Trumps friends. Maybe she should be more concerned about the USA rather than any other country.
Going over to support the radical MAGA party is not what she was elected to do. She must have an unknown ultimatum to benefit her political career. Otherwise she would have fought to change the Democratic Party to what she wants it to be.
