Lauderhill Holding Emergency Meeting To Hire Controversial City Of Tamarac Attorney Hans Ottinot

Hans Ottinot, left, and Marlon Bolton share the last laugh?

***UPDATE*** The Lauderhill Commission voted 4-0 to hire Ottinot Law P.A. as their interim legal counsel. While Commissioner Melissa Dunn was allowed to attend the meeting via ZOOM, she was not allowed to vote. Dunn was not in favor of hiring Ottinot.

The City of Lauderhill will hold a special meeting Monday afternoon to hire controversial City of Tamarac Attorney Hans Ottinot as its new legal counsel. The move comes after longtime City of Lauderhill Attorney Angel Petti Rosenberg resigned Friday. It is the latest personnel move following the election of new Mayor Denise Grant in November.

Like Mayor Denise Grant, Hans Ottinot is a close ally of Tamarac Commissioner Marlon Bolton. Earlier this year, REDBROWARD shared video of Bolton’s Key To The Region gala where he called Ottinot “my attorney.”

“My attorney is here, Hans Ottinot, come on give him a round of applause,” Bolton told the audience. “Amazing guy, keeps me out of trouble,” Bolton said.

REDBROWARD, Tamarac Talk and Voters Opinion have covered Ottinot’s questionable legal opinions as well as his hefty legal fees paid by residents of Tamarac.

Most recently, Ottinot gave his approval of a deal to use taxpayers dollars to purchase a dilapidated clubhouse at the Shaker Village complex.

Records show Marlon Bolton lives in a Shaker Village townhouse owned by his church.

Lauderhill residents should be ready to pay Ottinot’s hefty monthly retainer fee for his legal opinions. These fees will come on top of $175,000 consultant fee to Petti Rosenberg for services through May 2025.

So awful. The corruption just spreads and spreads. Not only did he write the contract for Shaker Village, it was written advantageous to them, not the city, including making the city responsible for items normally required by the seller. That costs the city more money. Bad move, Lauderhill.

Check out the web of corruption going on in Pembroke Pines. Seems few are looking into the fact that Mayor Angelo Castillo’s wife Lisa is the Chief of Staff of LSN Consulting, a government advisory firm with contracts with Pembroke Pines, and both City Commissions Mike Hernandez and Maria Rodriguez are both employees.

So three of the five people on the dais in Pembroke Pines are on the payroll at LSN and no one finds this suspect?

Something you should shine a bright light on and let the people know.
