Broward Schools Open Monday

Despite the growing threat of Hurricane Milton in the Gulf Of Mexico, Broward students will have school on Monday. In a social media post Sunday, the Broward School District urged everyone to drive safely and use caution as students headed to school.

“Hello Broward County.

Please remain vigilant on the roads, as there may be rain and possible flooding. Please remind students to use caution when crossing sidewalks and intersections. We advise students and staff to allow additional time to get to school safely,” the District said.

Sorry kids.

sorry kids? Schools should be closed if in state of emergency! Having schools open with the weather is just increasing the risk of accidents. By staying open regardless of the safety risk is saying “sorry parents and kids we know the risk but we don’t care”

Really? Broward County Public Schools decide to remain open ? Why remain open and put more people out on the roadways during a state of emergency? Staying open regardless of the risks is ridiculous. Should be enforcing people to stay home and off the roadways not making people travel increasing the risk of accidents .

Not safe at all, are they thinking about the students who have to walk outside to get from one class to another. My children staying home tomorrow, their health and safety comes first.

This district did not take flooding into consideration. It was awful/scary driving through deep water this morning.
