Just spoke with someone from Ft Laud Fire Rescue who says that the flooding near Broward Health Medical Center (the area’s primary trauma center) is so severe, ambulances can’t reach the emergency room. The hospital is not closed, but hard to access.

This supercell recently divided after being stationary for hours. Both cyclonic & anticyclonic rotation has been exhibited. Between 3-10pm, the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Int'l AP measured 22.59" of rainfall… #FLwx pic.twitter.com/P3YGRbeJC9

Traffic camera from FDOT shows the western side of the airfield at Ft Laud/Hlwd Int'l Airport totally under water. In the middle of the screen is an old airplane owned by the county that's used for training purposes.. to give you an idea of how much water is there. pic.twitter.com/3Ll5Hh56gt

Rain finally moves out this evening but not before several more hours of flooding downpours, significant in some places. https://t.co/8Eb06d2NSF

Just about every marker on this screen indicates either a current or a recent flood-related call that @FLFR411 is responding to. Lots of calls of flooded vehicles and stranded people. They put some high water vehicles into service to help. pic.twitter.com/JEuP02dhkV

Hi, just clarifying, tidal valves are managed by cities. They don’t need to be opened/closed. If they are not draining it may be because the coastal water levels are too high. If there is a maintenance issue, however, it is for the city to address.
