UPDATE: More Than 42K Votes Cast In Broward Today

As of 4:30 today, more than 42,000 Broward voters have cast ballots. Numbers posted on the Broward Supervisor of Elections website show 42,011 voters have braved the rainy weather. The polls will remain open until 7pm.

So far, 109,464 Broward Democrats have voted. 38,284 Broward Republicans have voted so far. More Republicans have voted this year than in 2012 and 2014. Some insiders believe more than 40,000 Republicans will vote by day’s end.

Vote by mail (absentee ballots) accounts for 49% of the the Broward vote. Early voting accounts for just 28% of the vote. Still, as of 4:30pm Election Day turnout is about 14 percent.
