Former Director Of Emergency Management Running For Broward Commission

Chuck Lanza, the former Broward Director for Emergency Management and Homeland Security, is running for a spot on the Broward County Commission. Lanza, a Republican, filed for the District 5 seat on Tuesday morning. The seat is currently occupied by the term-limited Lois Wexler.

Lanza will face Democrat lobbyist Steve Geller in November 2016. Lanza told the Sun-Sentinel he will start knocking on doors this week with the help of firefighters and police. There’s no truth to rumors that pit bosses and blackjack dealers will be assisting Geller as he knocks on doors.
