The campaign headquarters of Fort Lauderdale City Commission candidate Donna Guthrie is located in a building owned by the lawyer for the Broward Supervisor of Elections. In a Facebook post from December 2014, Guthrie announced the grand opening of her campaign headquarters at 2219 Sistrunk Blvd. (NW 6th Street) in Fort Lauderdale. Guthrie promised “great food, fun and music!”

Official records from the Broward County Property Appraisers Office (BCPA) show 2219 Sistrunk Blvd is owned by Right Consulting LLC. The property records indicate Right Consulting is located at 401 NW 7th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. Right Consulting LLC purchased the property in July 2014 for $115,000 dollars.

According to State of Florida corporate records, Right Consulting LLC is owned by Burnadette Norris Weeks. This company uses the same address as Norris Weeks’ law firm. Norris Weeks is the attorney for Brenda Snipes, the Broward Supervisor of Elections.

Campaign financial records filed with the City of Fort Lauderdale show Guthrie paid $100 to Right Consulting on January 23, 2015. The report is unclear whether this amount covered rental of the building owned by Norris Weeks.

Last month, REDBROWARD reported Guthrie has the financial backing of controversial Broward County Commissioner Dale Holness and his supporters. Since March 2014, Guthrie received contributions from Holness, Norris Weeks, Congressman Alcee Hastings and his chief of staff Art Kennedy, and consultant Sheryl Dickey. As REDBROWARD reported, Norris Weeks and Dickey hosted fundraising events for Holness.

On January 9, 2015, Dale Holness, Art Kennedy and Burnadette Norris Weeks co-hosted a fundraiser for Donna Guthrie. Sources tell REDBROWARD Alcee Hastings is working hard to secure a Guthrie victory. Hastings’ chief of staff Art Kennedy is listed as the treasurer for Holness’ 2016 re-election campaign.
