Another day, another big endorsement for Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti. The Broward Police Benevolent Association (PBA) has endorsed Lamberti over former Republican Scott Israel (D-Not Really). Expect the Israel dirty tricksters to spring into action any day now.
Here’s the Lamberti campaign release:
Broward County, Fla. – Today, Sheriff Al Lamberti is honored to receive the endorsement from the Broward County Police Benevolent Association (PBA). In Broward County, the PBA serves more than 2500 members and over 26,000 members strong throughout the State of Florida with the Florida Police Benevolent Association.
The Broward County Police Benevolent Association was established in 1972, and has provided job security to hundreds of Law Enforcement Officers. The association promotes professionalism among law enforcement, provides labor relations assistance, and collective bargaining services.
In supporting Sheriff Al Lamberti’s re-election as Broward County Sheriff in 2012, the PBA determined that Sheriff Lamberti “best reflects the interest and shares the same professionalism among law enforcement and within the Broward Sheriff’s Office with his experience and leadership qualities that the PBA promotes within the association,” said Patrick Hanrahan, President, Police Benevolent Association. We look forward for many years of a working relationship with the Sheriff and the Broward Sheriff’s Office”, expressed Pat Hanrahan.
Sheriff Al Lamberti holds a unique place of honor in the 96-year history of the Broward Sheriff’s Office. He is the first and only law enforcement professional to progress through the ranks, proudly wearing the uniform for over 34 years, to become Sheriff of Broward County. Having served at numerous ranks within the agency, he was appointed Sheriff in September, 2007. Thereafter, the voters of Broward County elected Lamberti to a four-year term as Broward Sheriff in November, 2008.
