School Board Member Dave Thomas sent the following message to Freda Stevens of the Broward Democratic Black Caucus:

“Freda – like many, I am deeply troubled by her use of the word and her reported response to you when you spoke with her about it. I have not known Ms. Murray that long and honestly, have not heard her speak like that, even in innuendo. Personally, I find the use of the N word offensive whenever it is used, regardless of the ethnicity of the user; just as I find the use of any ethnic slur offensive.

I am returning to the States tomorrow and will be in my office Thursday morning if you wish to speak at greater length on the matter.”

According to sources, Thomas has been off on the road to Morocco. He missed Monday’s School Board meeting. At least one School Board Member is troubled. Hopefully Mr. Thomas will address the issue so all of Broward can hear.
