Governor Ron DeSantis has suspended North Miami Beach Mayor Anthony DeFillipo. Late last week, DeFillipo was arrested on charges stemming from voting violations. The Miami-Dade State Attorney alleges DeFillipo voted using a Miami-Dade address while living in Broward County.
DeFillipo is facing three felony counts.

What we didn’t reveal is that an investigation ensued after we sent an email to Interim City Manager Mark Antonio advising him of our discovery that 124 of the Publix gift cards used for ex-Criminal Commissioner Paule Villard’s taxpayer-funded campaign stunt, were unaccounted for. The gift cards were purchased with Federal funds the City received under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA), and the missing cards were worth a total of $18,500.00.
