VIDEO: Why Did Pompano Beach Commissioner Audrey Fesik Carpool To Bank With Former District 5 Commissioner Cyndy Floyd?

A video obtained by REDBROWARD purportedly shows Pompano Beach Commissioner Audrey Fesik entering a local bank with former Commissioner Cyndy Floyd earlier today. The images were captured by a Fesik relative who is a customer of the bank. City Hall insiders believe Floyd was opening a campaign bank account.

Why?

Last Friday, Broward Judge Hunter Davis ruled Delvin King was not qualified under the city charter to run for the District five seat. With King’s removal, Commissioner Darlene Smith was automatically re-elected.

A King victory would have effectively given Fesik and Vice Mayor Alison Fournier control of the currently deadlocked commission.

Despite the Judge’s ruling, Fournier and Fesik did not accept defeat.

According to sources, Fournier urged Broward Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott to allow a replacement candidate for King. An outdated provision of city regulations was pushed as a rationale to reopen candidate qualifying.

But late Wednesday, lawyers for the Supervisor of Elections dashed their hopes. A letter obtained by REDBROWARD, explained that State law trumped any provisions of Pompano Beach. State law closed qualifying in June.

So why was Fesik and Floyd at Centennial Bank Thursday morning?

One insider thinks Floyd will be pushed to file a lawsuit to open up qualifying. This last ditch effort seems unlikely to succeed.

Yesterday, SOE sent copies of the final ballot to candidates for review. Any changes were due by noon today. Printing of the ballots is imminent since they must be mailed to overseas military personnel next week.
