Possessing thinner-skin than Judy Stern’s finest salami, Fort Lauderdale Commission candidate John Herbst asked why REDBROWARD did not seek his comment on a story. Herbst made his comment on a Twitter post about our story on the Sun-Sentinel calling the challenge of his qualifications to hold office as a “direct attack on democracy.” Herbst wrote, “How many times are you going to run articles about me but neglect to call for comment? Or refuse to post my comments on your blog? Are you afraid of criticism or do the facts simply get in the way of your vendettas?”
We informed Herbst his comment was not needed since the story focused on the Sun-Sentinel and the role of his campaign manager (Judy Stern) on the Fort Lauderdale Charter Review Commission.
Since Herbst was eager to talk, we asked why he said nothing when he attended numerous Charter Review meetings.
Herbst stated that staff was not there to speak about the charter. He wondered if we preferred he ignore the rules.
We responded, “So you’d sit by in silence even though there’s a ‘direct attack on democracy?’”
Then, John Herbst blocked REDBROWARD.
Mr. ARE-YOU-AFRAID-TO-ASK-ME-FOR-COMMENT hits the block button at the first tough question.
And this guy thinks he can be a leader of Fort Lauderdale?

He’s right. If we wanted to read sun sentinel we would not be reading red Broward! You should have gotten his input. All this infighting when we’re on the same team is not becoming. I’m disappointed to say the least and I’m tired of us not sticking together and being more compassionate to others.
Same team? You mean the team run by a Democrat lobbyist named Judy Stern?
